Product Overview

Crotonylation predominantly occurs on lysine residues and is characterized by low overall abundance and highly dynamic regulation. It is mainly distributed in nuclear proteins and chromatin-associated proteins. These features pose specific challenges for the enrichment and characterization of target peptides from digested peptide samples:

 

1. Limited Modification Signals

Crotonylated peptides account for only a small fraction of the total digested peptide pool and are easily masked by high-abundance unmodified peptides, resulting in insufficient sensitivity for direct detection.
